This Privacy Policy describes how LJ2 Holdings LLC, doing business as Brix Software ("Brix," "we," "us"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Brix web application and websites (the "Service"). It is part of our Terms of Service.
Brix is a business tool. We collect the minimum we need to run it, we do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and we do not use your data to train AI models.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your name, email address, and password or single-sign-on identifiers. We receive your name, email, and a user ID.
Workspace content. The data you and your team put into the Service — ingredients, supplier specifications, formulations, recipes, products, uploaded documents, notes, and settings ("Customer Data"). This often includes your company's confidential product information; our confidentiality commitments for it are in the Terms of Service.
Usage and log data. Standard technical information generated by using the Service: IP address, browser and device type, pages and features used, timestamps, and error logs. We use this for security, debugging, and understanding aggregate product usage.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive billing contact details and transaction status; we do not store your full card or bank numbers.
Cookies. We use cookies that are necessary to operate the Service — authentication sessions and preferences such as your active workspace. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide, secure, and support the Service, including calculating the outputs you request.
- To operate AI features you invoke (see Section 3).
- To communicate with you about your account, invoices, support requests, and material changes to the Service or these policies.
- To monitor performance, debug problems, and improve the Service using aggregated or de-identified usage information.
- To comply with law and enforce our agreements.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
3. AI Processing
Some features send the content you choose to process — for example a chat question, an uploaded spec sheet, or a competitor label image — to our AI providers (currently Anthropic) to generate the requested output. This content is used only to fulfill your request. We use AI providers under agreements that prohibit training their models on your content.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only with the service providers that run the Service, each bound by contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Clerk | Authentication and user accounts |
| Vercel | Application hosting and file storage |
| Neon | Database hosting |
| Anthropic | AI features |
| Stripe | Payment processing |
| Google Workspace | Business email and support correspondence |
We may also disclose information if required by law or legal process, to protect the rights, safety, or security of Brix, our customers, or others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case this Policy continues to apply to previously collected information until updated).
5. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by our hosting providers. Access to production systems and Customer Data is limited to what is needed to operate and support the Service. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
6. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. After your subscription ends, you have a 30-day window to export Customer Data, after which we may delete it from the production Service, subject to routine backup cycles and legal retention requirements. Usage logs are retained for a limited period for security and debugging.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You can access and update your account information in the Service, and you can export Customer Data using the built-in export features. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing luke@brixsoftware.com. Depending on where you live (for example, California or the EU/UK), you may have additional statutory rights — we will honor verified requests as required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
8. Children
The Service is for business use by adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. International Users
The Service is operated from the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will give notice by email or in the Service before the changes take effect. The effective date above reflects the latest revision.
